Hidden pearl and perfect basecamp

Eplet is a small family run guesthouse at the head of Sognefjord, Western Norway.

It's the perfect basecamp for a backpacking adventure in the fjords or for those just wanting to be in nature and peace. Our guests are backpackers, solo travellers, couples, families, old, young... and from all corners of the world! Eplet is open 1st Mai to 1st October.

During the summer season we are in the reception every day and answer emails daily. It is very busy here in July and August. We reccomend you to book some days before, even on the campground.

Low Season. During March, April and November it may be possible to rent rooms. But you have to book at least one week before arrival. Be aware that during winter season we may not answer e-mails more than twice a week. Welcome to Eplet.

This is us

We focus on a warm, friendly atmosphere and a relaxing and fun experience rather than luxurious facilities - there are enough fancy hotels around. We have a cosy living room with a library, jazz music and oil lamp in the evenings. There are two well-equipped kitchens for you to use and in our garden you can pick your own herbs and vegetables (in return for a bit of weeding!) We have hummocks in the garden, a nine-hole crocket golf course and a slack line. In the evenings you can join us to bottle feed the lambs. In the reception you can buy fresh strawberries picked at Eplet the same morning, and if you are lucky we may have some spare eggs from our chickens. Does it sound like a small paradise? Welcome.

Eplet is a small and popular place. During the peak season in July and August we easily get full. But we dont want it to get too hectic for either you or us and that is why we have a minimum of 2 nights stay in rooms and 3 nights stay at the camp during those weeks. The rest of the year you can stay as you want.

Please book by email, we are not able to do bookings by phone. Just call us if you need to book a room less than 24 hours in advance, or in case of an emergency.
